Why do we verify your age?

21 Cigar Co. does not sell tobacco products to anyone under the age of 21. To comply with federal regulations, we use AgeChecker.Net, a secure, non-affiliated third-party service. AgeChecker confirms your identity and verifies that you are legally old enough to purchase premium cigars.
How does age verification work?

AgeChecker.Net verifies your identity using trusted public records and government-issued data sources (such as property records or DMV databases). It is used only to confirm your age and does not collect additional information beyond what is needed for verification.
What information is required?

Most customers are verified instantly using only name, date of birth, and address.

If your age cannot be verified automatically, you may be asked to upload a photo of your government-issued ID (the same ID you would show in a retail store).

In many cases, your name and address are securely pre-filled from your order details, and you will only need to enter your date of birth manually.
How do I upload my photo ID?

You can upload your ID directly within the age-verification popup, using any of the following methods:

  1. Take a photo using your webcam.
  2. Upload an existing image from your device.
  3. Enter a mobile number to receive a secure text link and complete the process on your phone.

You will not be redirected away from checkout.
Is my information secure?

Yes. Your information is used only to verify your age and is protected using 256-bit AES encryption. Personal data is stored on a secure internal network that is not publicly accessible.

  • Photo IDs are never stored and are deleted immediately after verification.
  • Basic information (name, address, date of birth) is securely saved so you can be verified automatically for future orders.

We do not share or sell your data, and 21 Cigar Co. does not view your documents.
How long does age verification take?

About 90% of customers are verified instantly.

If ID is required, once uploaded, verification typically takes 10–30 seconds, depending on verification queue volume. The entire process happens within the checkout popup.
Can I cover sensitive information on my photo ID?

No. To verify authenticity, the ID must be clearly visible and unaltered. Any obscured or edited ID cannot be accepted.
Do I have to verify every time I order?

No. If you use the same name, address, and date of birth on future orders, you will not need to verify again. If any of those details change or are entered incorrectly, a new verification may be required.
